Software Engineer

Role Description The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and platform features that power PPLIED’s matching and hiring workflows. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing scalable APIs, optimizing existing code, integrating data sources, and collaborating with product and design teams to deliver new functionality. The role involves writing clean, maintainable code, conducting code reviews, improving system performance and reliability, and participating in architectural discussions. This is a full-time, remote role, requiring close collaboration through online tools and a strong focus on delivering high-quality software in an iterative environment.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in building production-quality applications or services.
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to design modular, reusable components.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern development practices such as CI/CD and version control (Git).
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team, with clear communication and strong problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with matching, recommendation systems, or recruitment platforms is a plus.
