Business Development Manager – Generators & Data CentresSouth of England (South of Midlands)Up to £80,000 + £8,500 car allowance + Commission (£30k OTE) + BenefitsProbus Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading UK provider of critical power solutions in the search for a Business Development Manager (BDM) for their Generator Division. This is a key permanent hire that will play a central role in driving growth within the Data Centre market, as well as other critical sectors including Rail, Utilities, and Facilities Management.

The Role – Business Development Manager (BDM)

As a Business Development Manager – Generators Division, you will:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue in generators, projects, upgrades, and control systems.
  • Build and strengthen long-term customer relationships, particularly in the Data Centre sector.
  • Grow business opportunities through existing Facilities Management networks while opening new doors in rail, utilities, and other key markets.
  • Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings.
  • Leverage engineering excellence and a full-service offering to provide clients with turnkey, future-ready power solutions.

About You

We’re seeking a high-calibre Business Development Manager who can demonstrate:

  • A proven track record in sales and business development within generators, critical power, or technical capex solutions.
  • Strong existing contacts and experience in the Data Centre market.
  • The ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders, building trust and long-term partnerships.
  • A strong understanding of generator systems including engines, alternators, and containerised sets.
  • A results-driven, self-motivated, customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.

What’s on Offer

  • Base Salary: Up to £80,000 (Negotiable)
  • Car Allowance: £8,500
  • Commission: OTE up to £30,000
  • Benefits: 5% contributory pension, Death in Service, Health package, 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Location

This is a home-based role covering the South of England (south of the Midlands). Regular travel across your southern territory, to UK sites, and to client/internal meetings is required.
