Location: Remote – United States
Travel: No fixed schedule, but will require attending industry tradeshows regularly , meeting clients in person for high stakes meetings etc.
Overview
A leading renewable energy services organization is seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales & Business Development to lead revenue generation across multiple high-growth service lines within the clean energy sector.
This is a hands-on, player-coach leadership role responsible for driving new business while managing and developing a team of Sales Managers and Account Managers. The position plays a central role in shaping commercial strategy, strengthening key client relationships, and delivering sustained revenue growth across long-term service contracts and higher-margin professional services offerings.
The role sits within the senior commercial leadership team and works closely with executive leadership, operations, finance, and legal stakeholders.
Business Lines in Scope
The role has commercial responsibility across three core service verticals:
- Operations & Maintenance – Utility-scale Solar, BESS, and Wind (multi-year service agreements)
- Engineering Services – Design support and Engineer-of-Record services for asset owners and developers
- EV Charging Infrastructure – Commissioning, corrective maintenance, and preventative maintenance for private and fleet charging networks
Each vertical has an established commercial team; this role provides centralized leadership, strategic direction, and direct revenue contribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the overall sales and business development strategy across multiple renewable service offerings
- Act as a player-coach, directly contributing to revenue generation while managing, mentoring, and scaling the sales team
- Own senior-level client relationships and oversee the pursuit, negotiation, and close of complex service agreements
- Drive new customer acquisition while expanding and protecting existing strategic accounts
- Provide accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and performance tracking using CRM and KPIs
- Oversee proposal development, RFP responses, pricing strategies, and commercial negotiations
- Partner closely with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership to ensure commercially sound and operationally deliverable agreements
- Contribute to annual planning, revenue forecasting, and go-to-market strategy
- Represent the business at industry events and within key market networks
Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in sales or business development within renewable energy, power generation, or energy services
- Proven success closing complex service, O&M, or engineering agreements in utility-scale or large C&I environments
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing commercial teams
- Strong understanding of service-based contract structures, margins, and long-term customer partnerships
- Track record of operating effectively in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and executive-level stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

Compensation
A competitive base salary with a significant performance-based bonus opportunity, aligned to individual and team revenue delivery. Final structure will reflect experience, market alignment, and scope of responsibility.
