Job Description
Posted on: March 25, 2026
We are on the look out for a Community and PR Manager at one of our B2B SaaS companies in the AI domain!
About the Company
We are a fast-growing AI startup building next-generation inference and agent-building infrastructure. Our platform empowers developers and enterprises to deploy, orchestrate, and scale AI agents with unprecedented speed and efficiency.
Our open-source community is at the heart of everything we do. With thousands of active contributors and a rapidly expanding user base globally, we need a dedicated Community & PR Manager to nurture, grow, and amplify this community while building our public profile.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Community & PR Manager to be the heartbeat of our open-source developer community and the public voice of our brand. You will engage daily with developers across online channels, organise community events, cultivate developer advocates, and drive the PR and communications strategy. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes open-source culture and understands how to build passionate, engaged developer communities that drive real product adoption.
Key ResponsibilitiesOnline Community Management
- Own and manage the company’s presence across all key community channels.
- Be the daily point of contact for the developer community — respond to questions, surface feature requests, triage issues, and foster constructive technical discussions.
- Develop and execute a community engagement calendar with regular AMAs, office hours, contributor spotlights, demo days, and technical deep-dives.
- Build and empower a network of community champions, ambassadors, and open-source contributors who advocate for the platform organically.
- Monitor community health metrics: active members, engagement rates, sentiment, response times, and contributor growth; report insights and recommend actions.
Community Events & Programmes
- Plan and execute community meetups, hackathons, workshops, and contributor sprints.
- Design and manage community programmes: contributor recognition, swag, early-access programmes, beta testing cohorts, and community grants.
- Coordinate with the marketing team on developer conferences, ensuring strong community representation and grassroots presence at events.
- Create feedback loops between the community and product team — synthesise community input into actionable insights for roadmap prioritisation.
Public Relations & Communications
- Develop and execute the PR strategy to build brand awareness across technology media.
- Draft press releases, media pitches, blog posts, community updates, and thought leadership content.
- Build relationships with technology journalists, bloggers, podcasters, and developer influencers in the AI and open-source space.
- Manage crisis communications and community-sensitive issues with professionalism and transparency.
- Coordinate public communications around product launches, funding announcements, partnerships, and community milestones.
Content & Advocacy
- Create and curate community-driven content: user stories, tutorial contributions, case study profiles, and open-source success stories.
- Develop a developer advocacy pipeline — identify power users and contributors and elevate them as speakers, content creators, and evangelists.
- Manage community newsletters, changelogs, and regular communications that keep developers engaged and informed.
Qualifications and ExperienceRequired
- 1-2+ years of experience in developer community management, developer relations, or open-source community building.
- Deep personal familiarity with open-source culture, contribution workflows (GitHub/GitLab), and developer community dynamics.
- Hands-on experience managing communities across multiple platforms.
- Experience organising community events, from small meetups to larger hackathons and contributor events.
- Genuine passion for AI, developer tools, and the open-source movement.
- Empathetic, patient, and community-first mindset — you understand that trust is built through consistent, authentic engagement.
Preferred
- Personal track record of open-source contributions or involvement in open-source project communities.
- Experience in PR or communications for a technology company, particularly crafting media pitches and managing journalist relationships.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, inference engines, or agent frameworks at a technical level.
- Experience working in a company with a community-led or open-source GTM strategy.
Nice to Have
- Video content creation skills for community content (demos, tutorials, event recaps)
- Experience with community analytics tools
- Existing relationships with developer communities in the AI/ML space
