The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving B2B sales growth within the U.S. outbound travel market, with a focus on European and global travel solutions. This role involves managing the full sales lifecycle—from lead generation and partnership development to negotiation and long-term account management. It is ideally suited for a results-driven travel industry professional with strong closing skills and experience working with Destination Management Companies (DMCs).
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new B2B partnerships with U.S.-based tour operators and travel agencies.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, presentations, negotiations, onboarding, and account retention.
- Build and nurture long-term strategic relationships with key accounts to drive revenue growth.
- Collaborate with global operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Analyze market trends and position travel offerings competitively in the U.S. outbound market.
- Represent the organization at trade shows, industry events, and networking forums.
- Plan and host FAM trips and educational tours for travel advisors.
- Monitor sales pipeline, performance metrics, and profitability using CRM tools.
- Provide market insights to support product development and sourcing strategies.
- Partner with marketing teams on co-branded campaigns and promotional initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in sales or business development within the travel industry.
- Proven success in closing B2B deals with U.S. tour operators, travel advisors, or consortia.
- Experience working with or for a European DMC is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. outbound leisure travel market.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to independently manage a sales pipeline in a remote or hybrid work environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for client meetings, trade shows, and FAM trips.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with international travel organizations, particularly within China or global markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
