Mid/Senior Level Freelance 2D Animator

Join an exciting new YouTube channel dedicated to making health science accessible and engaging through 2D-animated deep dives. As a long-term collaborator, you will play a key role in shaping the visual identity of the channel, animating a signature mascot, and helping to build a loyal audience. You will work from ready-made scripts and voiceovers to produce 4-5 videos per month, each ranging from 8 to 15 minutes. This is an opportunity to bring curiosity-driven storytelling to life and contribute to a channel with ambitious growth goals. Deliverables

• Animate 4-5 long-form (8–15 minute) videos per month based on provided scripts and voiceovers
• Develop and maintain a consistent visual style and character design for the channel mascot
• Infuse personality, emotion, and expression into the mascot and supporting visuals
• Ensure smooth pacing, engaging transitions, and strong viewer retention throughout each video
• Collaborate closely with the channel creators to refine storyboards and visual concepts
• Deliver high-quality, ready-to-publish animations on schedule

Requirements

• Proven experience in 2D animation, ideally for YouTube or digital content
• Strong portfolio demonstrating character animation, storytelling, and visual consistency
• Proficiency with industry-standard animation software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Toon Boom, or similar)
• Ability to interpret scripts and voiceovers into compelling animated sequences
• Excellent sense of timing, pacing, and visual storytelling
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a cohesive style across episodes
• Strong communication skills and openness to feedback
• Availability for ongoing monthly collaboration
• Experience with educational or science content is a plus
