Reporting Analyst Assistant
Job Description
Posted on: July 3, 2026
About the company Alpine Business Consulting focuses on fixing enterprise performance management and reporting systems that have lost their way. Often, companies invest heavily in complex planning tools only to find that the implementation cut corners, leaving finance teams with numbers that do not match and month-end closes that take far too long. We step in to configure these systems properly or build new ones from the start. Our consultants have spent years working with Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and modern analytics stacks. We bring real-world experience to every project rather than using a client engagement as a training ground for junior staff. We are currently supporting a global logistics client that handles complex shipping and supply chain data across multiple continents. Their current reporting environment is fragmented, and our goal is to help them establish a single source of truth for their financial and operational data. We believe in transparency and predictability, which is why we prioritize documentation that a client team can actually use. Our goal is to hand over a system that works reliably and then step back, ensuring the company has the configuration guides needed to remain independent. About the role We are looking for a Reporting Analyst Assistant to support our senior consulting team in this global logistics project. This is a fully remote position that involves organizing data, checking for inconsistencies, and helping to build out the reporting structures that the client will rely on for their daily operations. You will not be expected to manage the project or lead client meetings, but you will be the person ensuring the data we present is accurate and that our documentation is thorough. Many firms hide their junior staff behind the scenes, but at Alpine, you will work closely with senior consultants who have seen every implementation mistake in the book. You will see how we handle stalled cloud migrations and how we fix dashboards that nobody opens. The work is focused on data integrity and clear communication. Because we are a remote company, you will have the flexibility to work from your own space while staying connected through our standard communication tools. Day-to-day
- Reviewing financial data sets from the logistics client to identify gaps or mismatches in the reporting logic.
- Assisting with the manual validation of monthly reports to ensure they align with the single source of truth we are building.
- Updating configuration guides and technical documentation so the client team can manage their own systems after our handover.
- Setting up basic data visualizations and tables based on the requirements provided by the senior consultants.
- Testing new reporting features to make sure they pull the correct data from the underlying ERP and EPM systems.
- Organizing project files and tracking the progress of specific data cleanup tasks.
- Participating in internal team syncs to discuss technical roadblocks and project milestones.
What we are looking for
- A strong interest in how data flows through a large organization, specifically within finance or logistics.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use standard formulas and organize large spreadsheets.
- The ability to write clear, plain-English instructions and documentation for non-technical users.
- A cautious approach to data: you should be someone who double-checks your work and notices when a number looks out of place.
- Comfort working in a fully remote environment which requires proactive communication and good time management.
- A willingness to learn how enterprise systems like Oracle or SAP function without needing prior professional experience in them.
- An organized habit of documenting your steps so that others can follow your logic.
What the role offers This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a window into the world of high-level business consulting. You will gain practical knowledge of enterprise performance management and data analytics by working on a major engagement for a global logistics firm. This is a paid position, and the compensation is competitive for an entry level role in the data analytics sector. Since we are a remote-first company, you will have a stable work environment without the need for travel or an office commute. We provide the structure and seniority to help you grow your technical skills while you contribute to projects that solve real-world business problems. Our culture is built on transparency and directness. We do not use corporate buzzwords or spend time on unnecessary meetings. Instead, we focus on delivering clean data and reliable systems for our clients. If you enjoy solving puzzles and want to see how global companies manage their performance through data, this role provides a solid foundation for a career in analytics or consulting.
