Junior Data Quality Analyst
Job Description
Posted on: July 3, 2026
JHC Consulting is currently advising a prominent Austrian financial services group on matters of institutional strategy and internal governance. In support of this specific mandate, we are seeking a Junior Data Quality Analyst to join our team. This role is essential to our process of providing external challenge to internal corporate narratives. Your work ensures that the data used to support our written counsel is accurate, verified, and logically sound. Every piece of advice we provide to a board or a chief executive rests on the integrity of the underlying information. The role In this position, your primary focus is the scrutiny of raw information and the verification of facts within internal reports. You will spend a significant portion of your day reading through corporate datasets, identifying inconsistencies, and tracing the origin of specific figures used in institutional arguments. This is not a role centered on high level automation or abstract modeling. Instead, it requires a meticulous approach to checking whether the data actually supports the claims being made in a draft memorandum. You will be expected to synthesize your findings into clear, written summaries. When a discrepancy is found, you will document the gap and explain its implications for the broader strategy. Your day to day work involves close reading, data mapping, and the preparation of factual appendices. Because our firm does not use slide decks, your analysis will be integrated directly into formal prose. You will work closely with our principals to ensure that every table and figure in a final memorandum is beyond reproach. What you bring We are looking for an individual with a high degree of intellectual maturity and a disciplined approach to analytical work. This is an entry level role, so we do not expect years of professional experience, but we do require a solid foundation in data handling and a high standard of written English. You should be comfortable using basic tools such as Excel or SQL to organize and query information. More importantly, you must have the patience to look for errors that others might overlook in a routine review. You should have a background in a field that requires rigorous thinking, such as economics, finance, mathematics, or the social sciences. We value candidates who prefer accuracy over speed and who understand that a small error in data can undermine an entire strategic argument. The ability to write clearly and concisely is non negotiable. You must be able to explain a complex data quality issue without resorting to jargon or vague descriptors. How we work At JHC Consulting, we believe that writing is the most effective form of thinking. We do not participate in typical consulting ceremonies or lengthy presentations. Our work is produced as signed memoranda. Each document is authored by a single person who is responsible for every word and figure on the page. This model creates a high level of individual accountability and requires everyone, including our junior analysts, to take full ownership of their contributions. We value the courage to name uncomfortable truths. If the data provided by a client is flawed or contradictory, it is our responsibility to report that clearly. We do not aim to please a client with a comfortable narrative; we aim to provide an accurate one. This requires an analytical mindset that is both skeptical and precise. Working at JHC Consulting Our firm is small by design and operates as a fully remote practice. This structure allows for a high degree of autonomy and the quiet, focused time necessary for deep analysis. We do not have an office, and we expect our analysts to manage their own schedules effectively while maintaining the high standards of the firm. Because we accept only a limited number of mandates each quarter, we are able to dedicate significant time to the revision and refinement of our work. This is a permanent, full time position. While the work is conducted independently, you will receive direct feedback from senior advisors who come from backgrounds in corporate finance and institutional management. We offer a competitive and attractive pay structure that is commensurate with the level of individual responsibility expected at our firm. We provide the tools and the space needed to perform rigorous, high level analytical work from a remote setting. The work we produce for our clients is kept on file for years as a record of governance and strategic decision making. Every page is authored with the knowledge that it may be scrutinized by a board or a regulator long after the initial engagement is complete. As a Junior Data Quality Analyst, your contribution provides the factual bedrock for these documents. You will learn to see beyond the surface of a corporate narrative and find the evidence that truly matters.
