Offering technical advice, next day availability and after sales support on all major brands including Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno and ICOM. SMG also distributes over 50 other brands covering a wide range of marine, outdoor, watersports and fishing products and accessories including: Snowbee, Actisense, Avtex,, Maretron, NASA, Oxford, Railblaza, Scanstrut, Shakespeare, Toughprint and many more.
What you will do:
The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving sales targets through a combination of making outbound calls to potential and existing trade customers, visiting customers, building new accounts, and working with the Sales Manager to create and implement new strategies.
- Managing sales projects on a weekly basis
- Build relationships with key accounts
- Processing orders efficiently
- Professionally responding to customer phone calls and email enquiries
- Increase sales by creating and implementing your own business development strategies
- Leverage the CRM system to identify customers, product and sales trends requiring improvement
- Represent SMG during customer visits, boat shows and other events
What we are looking for:
- 2 years minimum sales/business development experience
- Commercial awareness
- Well spoken with the confidence to meet business owners
- Energetic, driven and creative thinker
- Self-driven individual and also a good team player
- Engaging telephone manner
- IT literate to use Outlook, Word & Excel
- Knowledge of the marine industry through work experience or leisure interests preferred but not essential
- Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and be open to regular travel throughout the UK
