About the Role
Big Human is seeking a Senior Product Designer with 4–6 years of product design experience in an agency, studio, or in-house brand environment. The ideal candidate brings strong product and visual design skills and can take digital products from discovery and ideation through wireframing, design, collaboration with engineers, and launch.
This role requires someone who can combine strong UI/UX and visual design skills with the ability to lead projects independently, work directly with stakeholders, and mentor other designers. The position is fully remote for U.S.-based employees and will work EST hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product design projects from discovery, ideation, and definition through design and launch.
- Design mobile applications and web products.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, UI designs, and polished digital experiences.
- Apply strong visual design, typography, hierarchy, and UI/UX principles across digital products.
- Plan and facilitate design workshops, client reviews, and user research.
- Collaborate closely with engineers throughout digital product development.
- Create and maintain design systems.
- Lead digital projects with autonomy and authority.
- Present design concepts and decisions to stakeholders and clearly articulate and defend design choices.
- Provide mentorship and support to other members of the design team.
- Navigate ambiguity, respond to changing priorities, and adapt quickly when project requirements shift.
- Contribute to a collaborative design culture focused on creating better digital experiences.
Required Qualifications
- 4–6 years of product design experience at an agency, studio, or in-house brand.
- High-caliber portfolio demonstrating a range of products and strong visual design, UI/UX, prototyping, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience designing mobile apps and web products.
- Ability to lead design projects from start to finish.
- Experience planning and facilitating design workshops, client reviews, and user research.
- Experience creating and maintaining design systems.
- Ability to work independently and provide mentorship to other designers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to present and defend design decisions.
- Proactive approach to asking questions and navigating uncertainty.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Expert knowledge of Figma.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Illustration or crafting experience.
- Branding experience.
- Experience with motion graphics or 3D modeling software such as After Effects, Blender, or Cinema4D.
- Experience with tools such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Framer, or Webflow.
- Strong curiosity about the internet, design, trends, and culture.
- Technical knowledge and curiosity about future-forward technology.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: $110,000–$130,000.

Big Human is based in New York City, while all employees work remotely. This position is open to U.S.-based applicants only and will work EST hours.
