Role Overview
We are seeking a registered psychologist to support our evidence-based surf therapy programs, including mental health clinicians and data research. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, operational delivery, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of all national surf therapy programs. This role combines direct program management, staff and volunteer development, stakeholder engagement, and oversight of monitoring and evaluation frameworks. The position ensures the delivery of best practices, compliance, and growth of the organisation’s mental health programs across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning & Delivery
- Oversee the national scheduling, planning, and delivery of surf therapy and wellbeing programs.
- Ensure all programs are staffed, resourced, compliant with permits, and executed to a high standard.
- Manage relationships with surf schools, councils, community partners, and other stakeholders at all sites.
- Lead participant recruitment, intake, and referral processes, ensuring programs are filled and accessible to target cohorts.
- Oversee logistics, including equipment, vehicles, and site-specific requirements.
Staff & Volunteer Development
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, training, and supervision of facilitators and volunteers.
- Identify training needs and design/implement training programs, including onboarding, professional development, and clinical supervision.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice across the organisation.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Oversee the collection and analysis of program data, including pre/post participant surveys and attendance records.
- Ensure compliance with the organisation’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework.
- Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, including funders and partners.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all safety management, risk assessment, and incident reporting processes are followed.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for vehicles, equipment, and staff/volunteer qualifications.
- Support grant application processes and acquittal reporting as required.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, funders, and sector bodies (e.g., ISTO).
- Represent the organisation at relevant forums, conferences, and meetings.
- Respond to general enquiries and manage communication channels as required.
Technology & Administration
- Manage and optimise the use of CRM (Salesforce), Form Assembly, and LMS platforms for program administration.
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality across all systems.
About you:
- Registered Psychologist
- Strong program management and coordination experience, ideally in the mental health or community sector.
- Experience in staff/volunteer training and development.
- High level of organisation, administration, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership abilities.
- Experience with CRM/database systems and monitoring/evaluation frameworks.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and evidence-based mental health interventions.
Employment Type: Full-time, 5 days per week
Location: Fully remote, with the option to be based anywhere in Australia.
Salary: $100k-$125k
